Assassin’s Blade from Evan Lorentz (07/1998)

See picture of Assassin’s Blade.

Acting as both a "wall" and "killer" dilemma, Assassin’s Blade almost gives you two dilemmas for the price of one. The conditions of CUNNING > 36 or 2 SECURITY means your opponent will have to commit a fair number of personnel to their mission attempt. And since it doesn't tell you to discard it, Assassin's Blade will remain even if it kills a personnel. That makes it the perfect opening dilemma before a powerful combo - or an insult added to injury after such a combo.

Combos:

  • "Pup" + Abandon Ship! + Assassin's Blade: The few remaining crew who does not Abandon Ship! probably won't have what it takes to escape the Assassin's Blade, and won't be able to complete the mission.
  • Assassin's Blade + Garak Has Some Issues + Duonetic Field Generator: Force a group of people into being trapped on a planet with a psychotic killer.
