Card Extra

Fightin’ Words from Evan Lorentz (07/1998)

See picture of Fightin’ Words.

The perfect gift for that all "bridge crew" Away Team that has everything, Fightin’ Words will make it very hard for your opponent to complete any missions. The most valuable skills on a multi-skilled personnel are usually listed first, including in most cases extra personnel types and any skills with multipliers. It's particularly potent against Federation opponents who will not easily have the option to battle you in order to nullify the dilemma. Add it to your Q-Continuum side deck for the benefits of this strong card, plus the possibility of several others, all for the cost of one Q-Flash.

Combos:

  • Fightin' Words + Shaka, When the Walls Fell or None Shall Pass: Diplomacy is almost always listed first or second on the big personnel, and there are very few one- or two-skilled Diplomats to foil your plan.
  • Fightin' Words + your Borg deck + Assimilate Planet: If your opponent goes out to attempt their planet mission with a point box of 35 or greater and hits Fightin' Words, they may find themselves in a bind. Do they come attack you and risk assimilation or retaliation? Or do they wait the three turns, while you assimilate the planet before they can complete the mission?
