Card Extra The Power from Joeri Hoste (05/14/2001) |

Don't you just love those multi-functional interrupts? The Power offers great versatility through its various functions, basically letting you decide how many cards you'll draw and how much information you'll be giving your opponent. The fact that it's an interrupt just makes it all the more flexible for you to use. Anyone will tell you that a card or two more is all it takes sometimes and that's where The Power comes in. The first function might not seem all that hot to you. After all it's just exchanging one card for another, right? Why not stock fewer cards so you'll draw the cards you really need faster? First off, you wouldn't have the options of the other functions, and furthermore, it needn't be "just exchanging one card for another". Use The Power after a friendly Handshake and you'll find yourself picking one out of five cards! The second function increases the benefit, but it has quite a cost as you'll be forced to discard one of the two cards you draw. Function #3 pushes that even further by letting you draw three cards, letting your oppenent peek at all three, and having them discard one. Resource-intensive decks with lots of redundancies will gladly use The Power as a card drawing engine, but it may seem a harsh cost for the majority of the decks. Now what if we could work on that cost? Nanoprobe Resuscitation, Mutation, and Palor Toff - Alien Trader are just three of the many Interrupts that will let you retrieve any precious lost cards so you get the most out of The Power. Manage and control your deck resources as effectively as you can, get the cards you need to speed up your strategy or grind your opponent to a halt. You have The Power. Combos:
