Many a Klingon deck has relied on Assign Mission Specialists not only to boost the point value of their missions, but also to get those skills out early in the game.

Using Assign Support Personnel those possibilities are widened to personnel with exactly two regular skills, and that's where Daval comes in.

Getting a SCIENCE-classification straight from your deck or reporting him directly aboard your ships isn't something you'll want to pass up! A mere two skills you say? When you hit Fightin’ Words you'll be happy Daval decided to come along! His Astrophysics will save your hide against Cosmic String Fragment, Gravimetric Distortion and Stellar Flare. Move on to Computer Skill, which has become too common as a requirement to go without in multiple. Even if Assigning Support Personnel isn't your thing, you would be able to get Daval into play easily at Deep Space Station K-7 under an Organian Peace Treaty, or aboard one of your [AU] or [OS] icon ships using Crew Reassignment.

But there's more, as Daval's skills can be easily enhanced using antiquities such as the Classic Medical Tricorder and the Classic Tricorder, which automatically turn him in a versatile tool in any player's hands. Missions like the universal Explore Interstellar Matter and Study Pulsar are all in a day's work for Daval. The aforementioned equipment by his side gives this scientist really something to work with, making him a one-man mission solver!
