Friendly Fire from Evan Lorentz (01/1999)

In many games, two turns can be an eternity. You're likely to find that out if your opponent is using Friendly Fire. This dilemma not only kills a personnel if you do not overcome it, it also prevents any attempting or scouting of that mission for the rest of the current and following turns. A number of dilemmas can remove some Leadership or SECURITY to help set it up: Angry Mob, Misguided Activist, Framed for Murder and Hate Crime, just to name a few. Don't forget, Friendly Fire isn't just for missions - it may be seeded at Empok Nor to delay attempts to commandeer it.

Combos:

  • The Sheliak + Friendly Fire: Friendly Fire is a great way to stall for time while The Sheliak are traveling toward a targeted mission.
  • Friendly Fire + your sacrificial personnel: Once placed on top of a mission, Friendly Fire blocks both players there until the countdown expires. If you know your opponent can overcome it, but you're willing to sacrifice a personnel, you can go trip it yourself to slow your opponent down.
